Ecosystems beyond Earth

Students learn about the need for future space settlements to grow their own food. They examine the flow of matter and energy in space ecosystems and the need for biosecurity systems to prevent the introduction of new species.

Bushfire and ice

Students learn about the behaviour, frequency and impact of bushfires in their community. They examine the science of modelling bushfires and the carbon cycle, and how the needs of the community result in the merging of new science with traditional First Nations Australians’ approaches to fire.
